


20th Historic Rally: 23-25 May
Taking place in Ammochostos, this classic car rally appeals to all ages, welcoming new drivers each year. Although there is the competitive side to this event, it also provides a great social element. There is no need for special preparation, just competitive spirit and common sense.
2nd Amateur Senior Mens Open: 23-25 May
After the success of the Open in 2007, this event will be opening its gates once again at the Secret Valley Golf Course. Last year there were many local players, however registrations from abroad have flowed in steadily and foreign players now outnumber the Cypriot residents.
Anthesteria at Paphos: 25 May
Paphos holds an annual Anthesteria Festival each May to celebrate spring and the rebirth of nature. The event includes a parade of floats and pedestrians carrying flowers and is inspired by the ancient Anthesteria festivals.
8th International Pharos Chamber Music Festival at Kauklia: 29 May – 5 June
The Pharos Trust welcomes to Cyprus seventeen accomplished chamber musicians from the current international circuit, in eight concerts on eight consecutive evenings at the Gothic Hall of The Royal Manor House, providing an exceptionally intimate setting in which to enjoy live musical performances.
Aphrodite 2008: 30 May
This event is called Aphrodite, Eternal Love and is an event where spectacular music and dance shows will be performed by orchestras, soloists, actors and dancers.

Kataklysmos’ Flood Festival
: 13-18 June 2008
This is a three day celebration that takes place in five different regions, Agia Napa, Larnaka, Lemesos, Paphos and Polis so check the website to find out when these different cities begin their celebrations, especially as the coastal cities seize the opportunity to stage concerts and games near the waterfront.
It is a Greek Orthodox festival with strong pagan roots focusing primarily on water and marks the day of the Holy Spirit. The feast of the Pentecost or Whitsun is marked 50 days after Greek Orthodox Easter. But in Cyprus, the celebrations also hark back to the Old Testament tale of Noah’s Ark, the Greek myth of Deukalion and ancient ceremonies in honour of Aphrodite and Adonis.

European Championships of Shotgun shooting: 6-13 July
The Championships will take place at the very well known Lefkosia (Nicosia) Olympic Shooting Range, in the area of Latsia.

Lemesos Wine Festival: 8 August-7 September
`Drink wine and be healthy`. Cyprus’s wine capital, Lemesos lives up to its reputation as a party town with a wine festival that it hosts every year. Held at the Municipal Gardens, just across from the coastal promenade, in late August, early September, this event has been a regular fixture since its launch in 1961. The Wine Festival began as a tribute to the island’s historic winemaking tradition, increasing in size and variety over the years.
Madame Butterfly: 29-31 August
Madama Butterfly one of Giacomo Puccini's masterpieces and one of the most popular operas of all times will be presented at the Paphos Aphrodite Festival. The opera is produced and performed by the Lyric Theatre "Giuseppe Verdi" - Trieste at the magical Paphos Medieval Castle.
