Scheme is a site for sore eyes
Rustington, West Sussex
When planning consent was approved for the redevelopment of a nursing home in Rustington, the adjoining owners accepted the fact that they would live next door to a new development of town houses.
As the scheme neared completion it became apparent that the new town houses did not fit well with the existing properties.
On behalf of the owners, Land & Brand New Homes were able to agree a sale on the two adjoining bungalows to allow a scheme of town houses, cottages and apartments to be designed that softened the transition from three storeys to single storey properties.
`
Good planning can be used to rectify the mistakes of the past as well as evolve an area for the future. Every town has a historical eyesore that should not have been given consent, but not every town can recify or hide the problem.`
