I spent my twelve year career in Estate Agency, working for both corporate and independent agencies. I am Brighton born and bred, presently living in Hove 'actually' but have also gained very valuable sales experience in North London, working for a major corporate agency.

 

I have a wealth of experience within our local property market place, from first time buyer studios and flats to £million plus homes. Mine is a hands on approach, with a friendly, personal and respectful service.

 

My motto is "to do what I say I will do" to the benefit of all parties.

 

I have a selection of sport related hobbies, which include; golf, tennis, the gym and skiing.

 

Melanie Hilder

Lettings

  

I joined Land  &  Brand New Homes in October 2006 in the Sales and Marketing team, where I learnt much about the new homes market.  I then  progressed to Senior Land Coordinator in the Land Department,  as well as managing  property lettings.

 

After the acquisition of Callaway’s Estate Agents in July 2008, I jumped at the chance of working within the office as I was by now a Hove resident.

I'm now expanding my lettings role by managing all property maintenance, from general to major works required. I deal with all the tenant referencing processes, manage the website, ensure rents are paid and renew all tenancy agreements. I really enjoy the buzz of liaising with Landlords, tenants and contractors. There's never a dull day!

My hobbies are various; I love traveling, walking, eating out and most of all shopping!'

Alex Sheppard

'Born and bred in Brighton and Hove, and as a third generation in the profession, I really have estate agency in my blood. Following in my Father's and Grandfather's footsteps I have inherited a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Added to that I have 18 years of my own experience in the industry, working for companies such as Halifax Estate Agency and more recently local agent Strutt and Parker, where I specialized in selling at the high, luxury end of the property market.

 

When the well established company of Callaways Estate Agency was purchased by R W Hilder & Co, I was delighted to join them, heading up the sales side of this exciting and enthusiastic business. I am looking forward to the future and continuing to build on the existing good reputation of the firm.'

Mark Harris

'I started working in the property industry nine years ago, my experience predominantly is within lettings but I also spent two and a half years as a sales negotiator, gaining further knowledge within the property sector. I strongly believe in supporting independent traders and have always worked for small businesses.

 

Having been with Callaways for three and a half years and am delighted that such a forward thinking, family run business such as RW Hilder & Co will be moving us forward and I look forward to the challenges ahead.

 

In my role as Lettings Manager I have the experience and knowledge to advise and act on all aspects of marketing and negotiation. I am very much in touch with what people are looking for and how to market properties in the most effective way.

 

My passion is live music and in my spare time I enjoy going to music festivals, this year I have been to Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Barcelona. I also play the guitar and find time to be creative by making greeting cards for friends and family.'
